A Brief History

Collyer Catering, LLC was established in 2000 by chef Mark Sharon and his wife, Reed Collyer.  A chef/manager team who have worked together for several restaurants and caterers in Greenwich, they felt that the market for innovative, hand-crafted foods was under-served and the concept for Collyer Catering was born.

A graduate of Johnson and Wales Culinary Institute, Mark brings his exceptional palate, knowledge of food and world-class expertise to the homes and event spaces of Connecticut and New York.  Reed’s experience managing restaurants and events have created a company dedicated to outstanding and creative foods, stellar service, and an unwavering willingness to go the extra mile for their clients.

The addition of their Market space in March of 2011 has allowed the pair to further their commitment to sourcing locally and features unique culinary artisan crafts and hand made gift items.  The unique space, located adjacent to the catering kitchen, is also available for private events, wine dinners, classes and more.

Philosophy

We believe deeply in hand-crafting nearly everything that leaves our kitchen, a process we feel results in a superior product, but our expertise extends beyond food to every element of an event.

Our services include site scouting, wedding and event planning, rental coordination, liquor coordination and bar menu creation.  We coordinate events ranging from a casual family BBQ all the way up to a gala for 600.  Our specialty is logistics and the ability to seamlessly blend the requirements of a large scale event into sheer perfection.  We are an agile company, with a host of professionals we can call on, but believe that each and every client should be treated the same, regardless of event size and budget.

Both ServSafe Certified food safety professionals, Mark and Reed live in Redding CT with their three children and two crazy dogs.  Our catering operation is located in a licensed kitchen in Westport CT.
